Art Beam is working on his doctorate in Psychology. He is studying the effect of hit-and-run deaths on the families of victims and perpetrators alike. It is this study, which brings him to Brice, Wisconsin. Mistaken for a police investigator, Beam sets all sorts of activities into motion, while he examines himself, along with those he sought to examine.
