Ang Tak

Golfer Tony Pinasa earned his way into the Masters by winning the British Amateur. Now, playing at golf's highest level, he struggles to control his emotions. He is tested during the first round, when his caddie sees the ball move but Tony doesn't. He holds his temper but his game suffers, and by the end of the round he's faced with a major battle just to make the cut.
Counted out by most observers, Tony has three things going for him: the passion he inherited from his mother, the determination of his Sherpa father, and a caddie (the story's narrator) who knows the golf course like the back of her hand.
Ang Tak ("Little tiger") takes readers inside the gates and inside the ropes at Augusta National, exploring the rifts that arise between player and caddie, player and player and, outside the round, between player and family.
This is also a story of one of the world's poorest countries, Nepal, struggling to find its way since the massacre of its ruling family in 2001, a tragedy that took the life of Tony's father. Ultimately, Ang Tak is a story about character: how it is nurtured, encouraged and strengthened, what it enables an individual or a nation to do in the face of adversity.
