Order of Succession

Avery Jacobson, President of the United States waskidnapped out of his Limo at an I-8 rest stop in southernCalifornia by a clandestine cabal of plotters. No one wassupposed to live through the abduction except POTUS anda select few members of his Secret Service protectiondetail. Except Agent Smitty manages to survive. Smitty believes he knows who some of the majorplayers are from a previous undercover infiltration of agroup of disgruntled self-described 'agents of change' (inThurmont, MD) for refashioning the gubamint intosomething better for the everyday citizen. Smitty discoversthat these 'gripers' have already been compromised byothers who usurped their anti-gubamint fervor and turnedthem into unwitting accomplices. Smitty uncovers clues to who the actual behind-thescenesplotters really are. And vows to stop before they canannounce the Newnited States as a fiat accompli. Instead of a military-style assault, they want to makea powerful statement to the country and the world. Theyamassed the equipment to raze The White House to theground, leaving only a pile of ashes. A helicopter battleover The Mall in Washington, D. C. fails to destroy TheWhite House; however, several buildings and monumentsin downtown Washington, D. C. suffer collateral damagefrom missiles and airborne cannons. Through Smitty's persistence, the plotters are flownto Camp David and the President has them arrested on avariety of charges, including bribery, corruption, sedition, and for treason
