In 1989, THE STORY OF KARMA was published and became another smashing success. The book describes the spiritual horror of a Mexican bandit, Emilio Valdez, who murdered five people and must "return" their innocent lives to God-or suffer in hell. He atones for his sins by returning to earth five times and reliving the lives-and deaths-of his victims. This book is an original literary experiment. Instead of five long chapters, the book is divided into the five consecutive lives of Emilio Valdez.
