It's a lovely spring morning. Ally, Joy and Xavier are enjoying a walk through Daffodil Woods when they discover a strange box. Even stranger, it contains the smiles of their friends who have turned to stone. How can they return the Smiles to their friends' faces? How can they defeat Dr Gloom? The stories were borne from research conducted amongst children, who identified challenges they most needed help with, which responses correspond exactly with Maslow's 'Hierarchy of Needs'.

All stories have a cheeky villain who represent a challenge children requested help with and a formula for overcoming it.
