A former Lambda Literary Foundation Poetry Fellow, he received his BA summa cum laude in classics and English and MFA in creative writing from The University of Mississippi, where he edited The Yalobusha Review. He teaches literature and writing at Indian Springs School, an independent boarding and day school in Birmingham, Alabama.
