This book began as an open poem to my daughters. After all the events of 2020, I felt the need to reassure my own daughters that character matters; that God, faith, and being a good person matter; that you are allowed to feel what you need to feel; that life is full of beauty and growth and that you are a part of that grand creation. Now I share these same affirmations with you and your little one. I wrote this book with the hope that every girl hearing and reading these words feel empowered and affirmed as they share these pages with the Queen they often mimic in their life. I wrote this with the hope that every mother, grandmother, aunt, mother figure, and woman who has impacted a young girl's life, sees herself in these words and graphics. That she sees the words and how they relate to her own being and becoming. That she knows she is valued, loved, cherished, and needed in this world because God made her for such a time as this to create the next generation of Queens who will take this world by storm. The heiress to her throne. Illustrator feature: The author gave full creative rights and freedom to the illustrator of this book. Joo-Yung Wiley is a sophomore at North Brunswick Township High-school. She enjoys drawing and watching movies in her free time. She also likes eating sweets and baking banana bread. She started drawing in kindergarten and says she likes drawing because "it makes me happy and helps me make my dreams come to life". She says it was a challenge for her to draw something new, but it was a growing experience, and she is happy with the end results. Joo-Yung says it was an honor for her to work with Miss Angell. When asked, who are the women in her life who have impacted her most, she replied, "My aunt and my mom are who matter the most. They have always been there for me and they are powerful women that I look up to in different ways". A portion of all sales will go towards the Marie's Mark College Scholarship Program to provide scholarship opportunities and mentorship to teenage aspiring artists.
