The Women of Passion Week

The women of Passion Week played an integral role in the final days of Jesus' life. They supported his ministry and courageously stayed at the cross. They lived out their beliefs by meeting his practical needs and by devoting their lives to his cause. Who were these brave, amazing women? Several are listed in scripture. Many are lauded historically as legends have grown through the years. But many of the women of Passion Week have been ignored, disappearing behind the cultural norms that sidelined them. We must bring them to the top of the list as important characters in the story. Step into the narratives of these women and imagine how they might have dealt with the death of their leader, then rejoiced as he returned to them - alive. Return to the events that led to the death of Jesus, but also heralded him as the risen King. Then underscore your own role during the Lenten season as a woman who worships the King of kings.
