Deuce Brownwater's life was looking up. He'd gotten the family toilet unclogged, and his dad just stole a bunch of roofing shingles for him to nail to the top of their trailer. But something happened on a fateful October evening that changed Deuce's life forever when he witnessed his older brother and his friends doing something strange in the pumpkin patch.
