Rightfully acknowledged as an accomplished musician who has translated John Coltrane's harmonics and spiritual intensity to the alto saxophone, Mike DiRubbo brings US the hard bop-inflected "Human Spirit" his sophomore effort for Criss Cross. The set includes originals by DiRubbo and Rotondi along with classics by Hank Mobley, Jackie McLean and Henry Mancini.
