He shares his home, hobbies, and occupation with his wife, Corina, with whom he is also a proud pet parent to two dogs, Elvis and Jasmine. Bowers is currently in recovery from addiction to painkillers and has been in recovery from alcohol for twenty years. He has experienced firsthand the chaos of addiction and is intimately familiar with both the joy and the fear associated with recovery. His debut title, "My Season in Hell", relates his personal experiences with detox and rehab and is as much a resource for active addicts as it is an autobiographical account.
