A real estate appraiser handicapped with muscular dystrophy has his home foreclosed on after being blackballed by the banking industry for refusing to co-conspire and provide inflated, inaccurate appraisal reports. While foreclosure is looming, a Friday evening message on Facebook from a childhood sweetheart begins a long distance romance, followed by a relocation of Bill to reside in Florida with Carol and her autistic son. The relocation does not alter Bill's prosperity as unemployment continues, countless unforeseen delays in obtaining his Florida license occur and assistance requested is repeatedly denied. Carol's character becomes increasingly visible as the months proceed. Her increased cruelty and lack of empathy heighten Bill's despondence. A final act of unjust by Carol leaves Bill homeless, living in a Mazda Miata, questioning his existence. The story is based largely on actual events the author endured over the course of several years and his emotions, his experiences with appraising, the banking industry, corporate greed, foreclosure, lack of public assistance, loss of a beloved pet, love of a narcissistic woman, friendship with an autistic child and the challenges, associated with being handicap, battling depression, unemployment, unethical corporations, government agencies and homelessness.
