From the Diary of a Retired Detective 2: Gary Farrow is All at Sea

Publisher Marketing: Gary Farrow was supposed to have retired as an investigator after a career with the police. Under the tutelage of his friend and mentor Mark Foster-Blythe, a successful and reputable antique dealer, he was learning to buy and sell in the world of antiquities and collectables. However, despite Gary's attempts to navigate a new career path, and to Mark's eternal frustration, he demonstrated a knack for diverting them both down old, well-trodden tracks into cases of mystery and intrigue. This was no exception. Ironically Gary's latest investigation began at Mark's instigation when he asked Gary to visit the home of the home of a well-to-do retired businessman to value his personal collection of objet d'art. A matter of days later Gary was called as a witness to a Coroner's inquest into the sudden death of his client, Vincent Colley. At the inquest Gary first encountered Vincent's beautiful niece Sabrina, following her impassioned outburst following a verdict of death by natural causes. Convinced that there were sinister forces at work Sabrina persuaded Gary to help her to examine the true circumstances of her uncle's unexpected demise. Sabrina's suspicion was aimed squarely at Vincent's 'adopted' family and little will persuade her that they were not involved in his death in some way. Eager to come to the assistance of a beautiful woman Gary takes the case, once again to the chagrin of his friend, and unwilling comrade at arms, Mark. The trail takes Gary on a sea journey dragging his reluctant partner along for the ride. The question is: will Gary Farrow throw any light on the night Vincent Colley died with his socks on? Will his friendship with Mark survive the roll of the ocean waves? Will love's pale light flicker for Gary and the beautiful Sabrina? Or will Gary simply end up 'All At Sea'? Contributor Bio:  Timmins, Glyn Glyn Timmins was born in the town of West Bromwich, near Birmingham, in the UK in 1961. After leaving school at 16 Glyn worked as an investigative auditor for local councils and developed a taste for undertaking probing enquiries. He took these skills into the Police Service in 1985 serving in four Midlands Police Services over his career, spending many of those years in Criminal Investigation, eventually leading homicide and kidnap investigations as well as other serious and major crime. Glyn has always maintained an interest in writing since his early scribblings at school, where he wrote plays, books and comics, however, a busy career and the general business of life pushed his literary ambitions to one side - at least for a while. Now retired from the police Glyn writes full time, relishing the chance to tell and share the stories he bases on his years of experience of dealing with people from all walks of life, and from a wide range of his diverse experiences. In his police career Glyn became a trained and experienced Senior Investigating Officer for homicide and kidnap and a hostage negotiator, as well as working in a range of other capacities including roads policing, firearms and public order. Glyn found the energy to study for two University degrees in his spare time, and to learn to play the drums. He loves music and has idolised The Beatles since he was old enough to put a needle to vinyl. He follows his hometown football club, West Bromwich Albion, though he left the town on his travels many years ago. Glyn likes to keep fit and enjoys some sports as a participant, particularly football and racquet sports, though middle-age and opportunity are limiting factors these days. Glyn has two grown up daughters and currently lives in the Heart of England where he happily taps away at his computer keyboard entertaining himself and hopefully the people who are kind enough to read his books.
