Bloodied Hunger

Publisher Marketing: 1986: London. A cultural revolution is upon the population. Money is good. Free Enterprise is the new culture. The Falklands war is over. Margeret Thatcher is Prime Minister with the Conservatives in their second consecutive term in government. House ownership, capitalism, profit are the fashion. The boom of advertising and music videos fill television screens. Mobile phones are in their infancy, are limited and the size of a house brick. The dawn of new media is becoming all powerful. Emerging sub cultures in the capital begin to flourish as the London economy booms. The music of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, The Pet Shop Boys, Madonna, Simple Minds, Duran Duran blare out across the bars and cafes of London. In the dark under cultures that emerge from the shadows, predators feed from the weak to satisfy their desires. A hard drug explosion, the anonymity of a large city concealing the dangers within as inhibitions are lowered. The seeming emergence of a sadistic serial killer luring unwitting victims and using their basic human urges against them calls for extreme measures in response from the police. As the slaughter begins and escalates across West London, the killer appears to be an elusive and intelligent predator targeting a section of the community isolated from the public mainstream. With DNA and CCTV in their infancy, the Metropolitan Police are left with virtually no clues or leads to follow, the targeted emerging community distrustful of authority and exposure to scrutiny. Gay men in London are highly suspicious of the police, their motives and the way they will be treated. Individuals will not come forward, creating a wall of silence, their humour and behaviour difficult to comprehend by the authorities. As the body count mounts and public attention turns to the competency of their capital's police force, drastic measures are called for in desperate attempts to gain information on the identity of the possible killer as the blood lust across London accelerates. Content Example: Leaning back, he sipped from his wine, then drained the glass. Taking another draw on his cigarette, he stubbed it out in the ashtray, blowing the smoke across the dimly lit room. Confident the message had been sent, he picked up the handset and ended the call. Rising to his feet he walked across the room and entered the bedroom, opening the wooden slatted doors of the wardrobe before the bed. Retrieving an ornate wooden box from the shelf above the hanging shirts and trousers, he unlocked it and stared down at the polished contents within. His tongue running across his lips as the excitement mounted within him. He could hear the haunting music from the film in the next room and smiled to himself, the similarity between fiction and his reality becoming blurred. Retrieving two cold objects from the box, he turned and walked out of the bedroom, picking up his jacket and car keys as he headed towards the front door. As the door closed behind him, a scream from the television as someone was attacked in their car made him smile again, his thoughts beginning to drift as he locked the front door. Tonight, across the west of the city, a London real life Michael Myers would once again emerge and transform fictional fear and terror into reality. Tonight, the authorities would perhaps finally grasp the extent of his power. This is third book from the author, detailing the emergence of a new character on the streets of 1980's West London. The story historically reflects the venues, locations and people of the time, with all the characters actually existing, albeit with some name changes to protect identities. The murders are fictional, and any similarity to actual events is entirely coincidental. Thank you for spending the time to read my books, I hope you enjoy the experiences of the 1980's.
