Neighbors

Poetry has always been vital to language acquisition, beginning with nursery rhymes and songs. This book, however, is intended for the intermediate and advanced student of Chinese. It contains one hundred sixty-two original poems in Chinese, on a wide variety of contemporary topics. They are all short and written in classical styles. Instructors can also use them in classroom readings and for translation exercises. Of course, Chinese parents may still read them to their children, and older children read them to their grandparents too.
