Empty for many years, the house at what would become Calloway Corners, Louisiana became the birthplace of the fictitious Calloway sisters; Mariah, Jo, Tess and Eden of the Harlequin romance novels, each named for one of the sisters. The house was used on the cover art of each of the four novels. Fiction became fact on February 2, 1993 when Calloway Corners, Louisiana became a "real town" and a bed & breakfast inn. At last, here is a cookbook from Calloway Corners Bed & Breakfast, named for the once fictitious town, which includes recipes (original and borrowed), quotes from the novels and elsewhere, history, sage advice, tales of romance, and photographs to delight, charm and bore. This is not a "healthy eating" recipe book! It is intended to impart to the user a history of and taste for a variety of foods; comfort, unique, gourmet, common and uncommon, that they would not otherwise have.
