The Life of John Taylor

The history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints cannot be told without John Taylor. He was a trusted friend of the Prophet Joseph Smith, present at his martyrdom; a founder and editor of Church periodicals; a preacher of the gospel; an apostle; a pioneer of Utah; a legislator; and, finally, a President of the Church during one of the most trying periods of Church history. As B. H. Roberts stated, "John Taylor was the embodiment of those qualities of mind and heart which most become a man."
