With her squeaky clean image wiped away by her 1984 hit, 'Sugar Walls', Sheena was able to continue her transformation into a sultry R&B sex kitten on the Lover in Me, gaining a whole new audience. The album has a slightly harder urban edge than anything she had recorded up to this point, but still retains melody and charm.
